Watching Brief
Glaister Consultancy can use its considerable knowledge, skills and experience to provide watching brief supervision of the remediation of invasive plants, such as Japanese knotweed and bamboo. The client provides the equipment, machinery and the labour while we provide our expertise to ensure the works are conducted effectively. This can result in a significant financial saving to the client if they already have plant and personnel present on site.
Whilst more common on commercial construction sites, we also provide this service to private domestic clients. Incorrect excavation of rhizomatous plants (e.g. Japanese knotweed, bamboo) can leave viable material in the ground that will generate new future growth. Removal of excavated material from site must be conducted in accordance to the law (e.g. Japanese knotweed is a controlled waste and cannot be disposed of as standard garden waste). Glaister Consultancy can guide clients through the process and ensure the removal of their invasive plants are conducted successfully and legally.
